Community bike

You may have seen our stunning e-cargo bike out and about in New Mills - it's pretty hard to miss!! It went down an absolute storm at the recent One World Festival!

And we are now looking to expand it's usage. Would you like to hire this bike at low cost? Would you like to hire it for your business? It's great for the school run or shopping trips! If so, please get in touch at transition.newmills@gmail.com.

The electric assisted bike can carry heavy loads of up to 200kg and is very happy on hills.

We successfully applied for a grant to buy the Tern GSD bike from Derbyshire County Council, as part of their community grants scheme - thank you, DCC!

Transition runs the scheme as a volunteer-led programme to support local charities, such as food banks, and small businesses, with free or low-cost deliveries in New Mills and the surrounding areas. We also hire the bike out to people who want to try out a cargo bike for family transport or deliveries.
