Climate cafe

A safe, respectful, supportive space for people to voice and process their thoughts, feelings and experiences about the climate and biodiversity emergency.

Climate cafe

The New Mills Climate Cafe is a welcoming, informal pop up space where people can get together to voice and process their thoughts, feelings and experiences about the climate and biodiversity emergency. It's an inclusive space where everyone is welcome to join the conversation and get involved. There is no need to be an expert.

It is not a place for advice or action. It is a place for deep listening and mindful sharing. Processing our feelings within a community of others who are also impacted by this emergency can help us feel less alone and lost.

One of the aims of Transition New Mills is to help prepare for the worst by building something much better - and we need to start by having open and honest conversations about the crisis and, in particular, our feelings about it.

"I feel ten kilos lighter"

As a community, this feels like a good and healthy response to the crisis and we would love you to be part of this journey!

The intention is to hold Climate Cafes monthly. Details of forthcoming sessions can be found on the Transition New Mills Facebook page.

The Climate Cafe is facilitated by Mary Dees MSc. CTA(P) Eco-psychotherapist, and held for two hours in an evening at Millers Refillers, 34 Market St, New Mills, High Peak SK22 4AE.
